Icare (Insurance and Care NSW) is a public financial corporation established by the NSW government in Australia in 2015. It was created to provide insurance and care services for people who have been injured at work or on the road, or who have suffered a catastrophic injury or illness.
Workers Compensation insurance: employers in NSW in cases of work-related injury or illness.
Motor accidents insurances: people who have been injured in a motor vehicle accident in NSW, including compulsory third party (CTP) insurance.
Lifetime care and support scheme: support and care for people who have suffered a catastrophic injury or illness, such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, or burns.
Dust diseases care: provides support and care for people who have contacted a dust related disease due to exposure to dust or asbestos in their workplace.
At Chase rehab our Occupational Therapist (OTs) can play an important role in the rehabilitation of compensable clients, who have sustained an injury or illness related to their work or workplace, or from a motor vehicle accident. The goal of the OT in this context is to assist the client in returning to work or to their usual activities of daily living by supporting their physical, cognitive, and emotional recovery.
